Camp Action

Mateo spent the first week of summer at Marymount. This week was spent at the DC United Academy camp at Washington and Lee High School. Mateo was named MVP of the camp at the end of the last day and got a signed t-shirt from Marco Etcheverry for Francisca!

McSoccerfest results

Playing with no subs on a very hot day, the Lions won their first game 11-1, lost the next game 4-1, and then blew a 3-0 lead to lose the third game 5-4. Mateo had five goals over the three games.

Mateo has been asked to play for the Arlington Lions in this weekend's McSoccerfest in Columbia, MD. Results to follow.

Rec Game #8

Lightning defeated Potomac Kiwanis 7-0 on 6/14/08 to raise their record to 3-3-2. Mateo had two goals to end the season with 26 goals in 6 games.

Travel game #9 and Rec Game #7

Arlington blew a 3-1 lead to DC Stoddard, to tie 3-3, finishing the travel year at 4-3-2. See image above.

Mateo chose to skip his rec game, which was right after the travel game, due to the extreme heat. The Lightning won 5-4 to improve to 2-3-2.

One more rec game, next weekend.

Rec Game #6

Mateo had five goals as his side won 7-2. Overall, Lightning tied 8-8, to move to 1-3-2 on the season.

Travel Game #8

Attack Red lost a 3-2 decision to Alexandria to move to 4-3-1 on the season. Next Sunday is the last game of the season.

Rec Game #5

Mateo missed the last game, which was a tie. Today's 19-5 victory improved Lightning's record to 1-3-1. Mateo scored seven goals as his side won 12-3.

Travel Game #7

Arlington Attack Red improved to 4-2-1 with a 14-0 victory over St. Mary's on May 18th. Mateo scored a goal (here) and had two close calls (here and here).

Travel Game #6

Arlington Attack Red improved to 3-2-1 with a 4-2 victory over Annandale on Saturday, May 17th. Mateo had the first goal of the game on a left-footed strike off a nice assist from Jason:

Travel game #5

The site was Palisades Park in Washington, DC, as Attack Red faced the DC Cosmos, on Sunday, May 4th. The result was a 5-4 loss, dropping Attack Red to 2-2-1. Mateo spent the first half as goalkeeper. There are highlights here and here.

Travel game #4

On Saturday, May 3rd, Attack Red notched a 5-1 victory over SYC Strikers, to raise their record to 2-1-1. Mateo had a goal and an assist in the game. The link to the goal is here, and the assist here.

Mateo's travel team tied 0-0 to move to 1-1-1 on the season. He had a breakaway, but could not convert:

Rec game #3

Mateo had three goals as his Lightning side lost 8-6. The other side tied 3-3 for an 11-9 defeat and 0-3 record.

Rec Game #2

Mateo had three goals as his Lightning side prevailed 6-4. The other side lost 9-3 for a 13-9 aggregate loss.

Travel game #1

Arlington Attack Red dropped a 3-1 decision to McLean to fall to 0-1.

Rec league Game 1

U8 Key Lightning fell to Tanzman's Tornadoes. Mateo had six goals as his side lost 9-7. The other side lost 10-2, for an aggregate 19-9 loss.
