Weekend action

Camp Action

Mateo spent the first week of summer at Marymount. This week was spent at the DC United Academy camp at Washington and Lee High School. Mateo was named MVP of the camp at the end of the last day and got a signed t-shirt from Marco Etcheverry for Francisca!

McSoccerfest results

Playing with no subs on a very hot day, the Lions won their first game 11-1, lost the next game 4-1, and then blew a 3-0 lead to lose the third game 5-4. Mateo had five goals over the three games.

Rec Game #8

Lightning defeated Potomac Kiwanis 7-0 on 6/14/08 to raise their record to 3-3-2. Mateo had two goals to end the season with 26 goals in 6 games.

Travel game #9 and Rec Game #7


Arlington blew a 3-1 lead to DC Stoddard, to tie 3-3, finishing the travel year at 4-3-2. See image above.


Mateo chose to skip his rec game, which was right after the travel game, due to the extreme heat. The Lightning won 5-4 to improve to 2-3-2.

Rec Game #5

Mateo missed the last game, which was a tie. Today's 19-5 victory improved Lightning's record to 1-3-1. Mateo scored seven goals as his side won 12-3.

Arlington Attack Red improved to 4-2-1 with a 14-0 victory over St. Mary's on May 18th. Mateo scored a goal (here) and had two close calls (here and here).

Travel game #5

The site was Palisades Park in Washington, DC, as Attack Red faced the DC Cosmos, on Sunday, May 4th. The result was a 5-4 loss, dropping Attack Red to 2-2-1. Mateo spent the first half as goalkeeper. There are highlights here and here.
